Hermès has proudly unveiled its newly relocated boutique on the ground floor of Phipps Plaza, strengthening its presence in Atlanta, a city renowned for its rich cultural influence in art, music, and film. This new store marks Hermès' only location in Atlanta and one of just forty-one in the United States.
The boutique’s design embraces Atlanta’s dynamic artistic spirit, inviting visitors to explore Hermès' extensive offerings across sixteen métiers. Inspired by the city’s lively urban murals and thriving art culture, the bespoke interiors come to life through thoughtful design and vivid architectural features. The striking façade, crafted from terracotta bricks in a gradient of dark brown to almond, takes inspiration from Georgia’s rugged red canyons. These bricks complement bay windows framed in sheer, patterned fabric that flood the space with gentle, natural light.
As guests enter the boutique, they are welcomed by the iconic Faubourg mosaic flooring, a blend of beige, blue, and green hues that guides them through the store. Grecques lighting enhances the ambiance, leading visitors to the vibrant displays of silk and fashion jewelry. To the left of the entrance, a sophisticated area features homeware, leather goods, and equestrian collections, while a red terrazzo-clad passage on the right introduces the perfume and beauty section. This corridor, designed with a softly squared opening, leads into the shoe universe, where a circular rug fades from green to warm clay tones.
The boutique’s layout effortlessly merges with Hermès’ ready-to-wear sections for both women and men, creating a cohesive journey that surrounds a striking jewelry and watches salon. The interior design, crafted by the Paris-based architecture firm RDAI, weaves together elements of Atlanta’s street art and natural landscapes. Expansive openings and a central path enhance the store’s flow, while gently curved displays and lighting coves soften the vibrant color palette.
Distinctive color schemes define each room, blending shades of light beige, deep taupe, salmon pink, earthy red, and clay. Walls upholstered in rich materials add tactile elegance, while curated artwork and photographs from both the Émile Hermès collection and the Hermès Collection of Contemporary Photographs provide visual depth.
To enrich the boutique’s artistic experience, Hermès collaborated with French artist Lena Hilton. Her bold, abstract paintings, brimming with layered and gradient paint effects, bring dynamic energy to the interiors, capturing the rhythmic essence of Atlanta. The boutique also features Gianpaolo Pagni’s *Hippomobile*, a playful, elongated horse rendered in vibrant hues, and Elias Kafouros’ *Chevaloscope*, an intricate composition depicting a horse’s mane formed from retro neon signs.
Hermès invites the Atlanta community and visitors from afar to explore this new boutique. It seamlessly blends the city’s vibrant energy with the house’s exceptional craftsmanship and innovative spirit, creating an unforgettable retail experience.
